Bloodfest 7s is a rugby tournament hosted in Austin, Texas every June and has been around since June 21, 1998, making this is our 21st annual tournament. For 2017 we had 78 teams mostly from around the southwest and southeast regions, with teams as far away as New York and California coming to give Bloodfest their best go. In fact, we’ve outgrown our britches 3 times since the tournament’s inception! For 2018 we are at a brand new state-of-the-art facility in Round Rock, Texas (20 miles north of downtown Austin), called the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex.

Rugby has been the fastest-growing team sport in the United States for several years. It is the second most popular sport in the world, and it also happens to be the newest Summer Olympic sport.

7s is very fast paced, and a match only lasts 14 minutes. Each squad will play over 4 matches in a single tournament.

Bloodfest serves as the primary annual fundraiser for Huns Rugby Football Club, a 501(c)3 nonprofit that serves a wide range of rugby players from youth, through tackle High School, Men’s, and over-35 Senior rugby. We have a close relationship with the Austin Valkyries, who contribute to the tournament’s success and we share the benefits.

Any contributions in the form of donations, sponsorships, or strategic partnerships go directly to the operations of the club. Travel, professional coaches, equipment, and facility expenses are needs for our club, and they also help to keep our membership dues low.
